Beth Wurcker, aka Miss Betty, is a Canberra based artisan producing handmade beads and jewellery since 2008.

Miss Betty's beads are made from a variety of materials with polymer being the major player. With its infinite colour palette, strength and versatility as a medium, the results are stunning.

Beth produces wearable, high quality yet affordable one-off pieces, designed to be worn and loved for many years.

Taking inspiration from fabrics, art-even cracks in the footpath, her designs are either monochromatic or richly coloured, but never flashy. Strong patterns and color combinations excite her eye but never seek to dominate the personality of the wearer.

Beth invites commissions for individual beads or complete pieces. Workshops can also be arranged and a one day introduction to polymer clay is offered through the Brain Gym in Weston ACT (please see their website for details).

Back into polymer mode again!

After several months of mad activity with work and family I'm now back in the zone! Was reenergised by making a couple of items for the Canberra Show- only ended up putting in 2 out of the 3 I entered because I just wasn't happy with the quality of the finished item and of course it was took late to re-do. No matter, I remade it the following week and it now adorns the neck of one of my colleagues :)
Was disappointed that mine were the only entries in the polymer clay part of the show but I took out Champion in the overall Miscellaneous Crafts section (I don't see polymer as miscellaneous!!!).
Anyway, keen now to do some more courses and stock up my Etsy store. Doing the final touches to the floor plans for our renovations and it looks like my studio will be a reality by October this year, I can't wait!
